Time Goes On and On

The Watermelon Factory – Niland, CA – April 2019

Sixty seconds in a minute. Sixty minutes in an hour. Twenty four hours in a day. Seven days in a week. Four weeks in a month. Twelve months in a year. Time goes on and on. At some moments it feels slow. Others it feels as if it’s flown by. I assembled a full year calendar reflecting on the past year of my life. I began with a pen, marking off each day, pressing hard into the concrete wall until the pen broke. Then, I picked up a marker and continued marking off days faster until the marker broke. I proceeded to pick up a bucket of latex paint and a large brush and mark off entire months. With a final motion, I used a paint roller to create an X through the entire year.
