Live Laugh Loft – Los Angeles, CA – February 2020
Some called it the Crimson Party. The whole space is set with red lights, casting a glow which tricks the eyes and accentuates the senses. Wearing a red evening gown atop a white sheet, I perform an improvised dance to a sound piece of water and air (listen below). With a bowl of watered-down red paint, I begin to spread the pigment on my body, covering my face and head, rubbing it into my hair and letting it drip down on my dress and the sheet below. The sound of wind pins my body to the ground as I struggle to stand against its mighty blows.
Anger. Frustration. Expression. Feeling. I am seeing red.
