After going through many compositional changes throughout the past few months, and having began its existence in early 2013, this large scale painting has just now been stretched and completed this March 2014!
What used to be a double canvas, un-stretched, hanging-free piece has now been divided into two separate works. With its re-orientation and fresh stretched completeness, this painting is ready for a gallery wall.
Why is this painting such a big deal? Because with nothing but a free-hand miter saw, one clamp and exhausting brute force, I have built the biggest stretcher I have ever made right here in a one-bedroom apartment in L.A.
A Breath of Fresh Air, 2014, 54″x78″, acrylic and charcoal on canvas
