As I was photographing my drawings, I was beginning to think of ways they would be hung, displayed. My work is all about edge quality. I love frayed and asymmetrical shapes/boundaries. I want to keep the torn and misshapen edges, retain that initial relationship with the paper; sometimes before images even begin and other times as a response to images made.
I am still trying to figure out how I would portray this idea of breath/breathing – images hung on the wall in such a way that they would breathe and move with the rhythm of the air currents subtle, elegant and beautiful movements. An exhibition of my drawings, I decided, would be called “Breathe: Drawings in Motion”
